SUMMARY:Innovation event: Sufficient clean water\, for now and later
DESCRIPTION:  \nWater quality in the Netherlands must improve. Not only nature\, but also our drinking water supply is under pressure. This calls for system\, technology and behavioral innovations. \nAre you curious about the latest insights from TU Delft research and practice on how we can organize our water system differently? Or are you working on a solution or innovation and want to get feedback or meet potential partners? Then come to our innovation event on Wednesday July 2 at The Green Village at TU Delft! \nFor whom? During this innovation event we bring together science\, policy and practice to work together for sufficient clean water\, for now and later*. Whether you are an innovator\, entrepreneur\, policy maker\, researcher or consultant – if you work on water quality or are interested in a future-proof water system\, you are welcome. \nProgram\nThe preliminary program can be found below. In addition to knowledge sharing and inspiration\, there will be active sub-sessions focusing on solutions around various aspects of the water system. The partial sessions: \nTake an innovation tour of The Green Village and discover different solutions that can measure and improve water quality; \nPlay the serious game Sudsbury 2.0 with Lisa Scholten (TU Delft) on the effects of urbanization and climate change on the water cycle and potential solutions; \nVewin and Unie van Waterschappen; What is the state of clean and sufficient water in the Netherlands? Noa Maria Hartog takes you through what has been achieved in 2024 and what still needs to be done in the coming years (spoiler alert: water quality); \nKlaar van Etten of the Province of South Holland outlines the context of the state of affairs of the circular water chain in South Holland. Then we zoom in on a practical case study with Mark Rotteveel: how do you get the water system circular at the house level? His pilot house in Boskoop is saving 90% drinking water and 40% less waste water through innovative systems such as Hydraloop and Mijnwaterfabriek’s SafeWater system. \nAfter the sessions there will be a closing drink with innovation market. \n13:30 Walk-in \n13.50 Welcome \n14.00 Keynote by Prof. Dr. Doris van Halem and Dr. Fransje Hooijmeier on bottlenecks and opportunities in the water system \n14.30 In practice: working on water quality in Blijdorp Zoo (Lindsey Schwidder) \n15:00 Storytelling: how do we make water quality something that belongs to all of us? \n15.30 hrs Start of partial sessions \n17.00 Closing drinks and innovation market \n18.00 hours End \n*The event is part of the TU Delft campaign ‘Sufficient clean water\, for now and later’\, which runs from July 1 to 10\, 2025. \nRegister for the event here: Innovatie-event: Voldoende schoon water\, voor nu en later – Aanmelden \nLocation\nThe Green Village – Co Creation Centre\nVan den Broekweg 4\, Delft

SUMMARY:Let's Talk B.io lunch lecture - Future-proof brand naming
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe Planet B.io team invites you to their next Let’s Talk B.io lunch lecture\, where they welcome Geert Docter\, Verbal Brand and Naming Lead at Globrands\, Europe’s leading verbal identity and naming consultancy. Globrands is the originator of the Planet B.io name\, that now represents our biotech innovation community. \nGeert is a verbal brand and naming consultant who helps companies find names that don’t just work but truly connect with their audiences. He specializes in navigating the complexities of merging and splitting brand identities\, as well as Dutch and multilingual naming. \nFor Geert\, a name isn’t just a market-driven decision – it’s tied to professional pride and identity. That’s why he believes name development should be part of the concept development process; after all\, a name shapes the user experience. \nHis journey in naming started in the late ‘90s at Globrands\, where he helped create hundreds of brand names across industries and countries. In the 2010s\, he moved into a consulting role\, and in 2020\, he worked with Philips to implement descriptive naming across its global portfolio. In the summer of 2023\, he returned to his roots at Globrands. \nSince 2018\, he has also been teaching Industrial Design students at TU Delft about the power of naming – what it does for a brand and how to find the name that does it best. \nGeert will share insights into what makes a brand name engaging\, ownable\, and ready for the future. While many startups focus on product development\, future-readiness in brand naming is often overlooked – especially in tech-driven industries. \nRegister here \nLocation\nBiotech Campus Delft\nAlexander Fleminglaan 1\, Delft

SUMMARY:AI & Mobility Day - Discovering the Future Today
DESCRIPTION:  \nDuring the TU Delft’s festive Dies Natalis week “Making Sense of Mobility”\, we organise the AI & Mobility Day. \n\nThe world of transport\, mobility and logistics is on the brink of an unprecedented transformation\, driven by rapid developments in artificial intelligence (AI). This technology has the potential not only to revolutionise the way we move\, but also to address fundamental efficiency\, sustainability and safety challenges. \nImagine a future where traffic congestion is a thing of the past thanks to intelligent traffic systems that use real-time data to optimise traffic flows. Or imagine autonomous vehicles that not only improve road safety but also make mobility more accessible to all. AI makes it possible to optimise logistics chains\, allowing goods to reach their destinations faster and with less environmental impact. However\, with these advances also come important questions and responsibilities. How do we integrate AI ethically and responsibly into our transport systems? How do we ensure user privacy and security in an increasingly connected world? And how do we ensure that technological innovations contribute to societal goals and do not lead to new forms of inequality? \nOn Friday 17 January 2025 (09:30 – 16:00)\, during TU Delft’s festive Dies Natalis week “Making Sense of Mobility”\, the TU Delft | AI Initiative\, Mobility Innovation Centre Delft (MICD) and the Transport & Mobilitity Institute (TMI) bring together leading experts from science\, industry and government to address these questions. We invite you to Mondai | House of AI for this day full of inspiration\, innovation and interaction\, where together we will shape the future of AI in mobility. During this AI & Mobility Day you can expect: keynotes\, panel discussions\, networking opportunities\, and an interactive (demo) market. \nThe day is aimed at anyone involved or interested in the future of mobility – from engineers and data scientists to policymakers and entrepreneurs. \nMORE INFO & REGISTER HERE\nMaking Sense of Mobility \nThis event is part of TU Delft’s 183nd Dies Natalis celebrations with the theme Making Sense of Mobility. From 13 to 17 January we invite all students\, employees\, alumni\, partners and peers to take part in one of our events of the Making Sense of Mobility week and join the Dies Natalis anniversary ceremony.  With debates\, lectures\, demo’s and a Mobility Innovation event\, there should be something to meet your needs. Let’s shape the future of mobility together. \n\n

Let’s take this opportunity to expand the conversation and collaborate across different roles and industries. \nEvent Details: \n\nWho: Employees and founders from startups and scale-ups\nWhen: 12th of November 12.00-13.30\nWhere: Main Hall YES!Delft\nWhat to expect: Informal discussions\, shared experiences\, and a chance to brainstorm with peers\n\nTogether\, we can navigate the challenges of scaling businesses and inspire one another to push forward. \nDon’t miss out—sign up now and be part of this exciting community-building lunch! \nThis event is made possible by Ondernemersfonds Delft.
